ECO - CULTURAL STATION OF OLÍMPIA AND MARIA FUMAÇA

Architectural complex dating from the 1910s, listed as municipal historical heritage, with the preservation and restoration of the original characteristics of the old Olímpia Railway Station.

The Olímpia Railway Station, which belonged to the old FEPASA, operated until 1968, with trains and cars in operation, and was deactivated with the emergence of highways. From the 1920s until the end of the 1960s, the Locomotive largely transported coffee, which helped Olímpia to develop. The site remained unused for about 15 years and, in 2019, began undergoing renovations to reactivate it as a cultural center, inaugurated on December 15, 2021.

The requalification of the architectural complex of the old Station, with the preservation and restoration of the original characteristics of the building, will host temporary exhibitions, as well as symposiums, residencies, classes, and round tables addressing relevant issues of modern and contemporary art. With over 6,000 m² of total area and 1,000 m² of built area, ECO includes administrative offices, a reception area, an art gallery, a food court, a space for cultural presentations, an exhibition room, among others. In addition, the locomotive that was in the old Museum of History and Folklore has been restored and transported to the station, and two old cars are still being installed, one of which will have a café and the other, a space for the exhibition of photographs and screening of historical and old films from when the station was operational.
